Dr. Clifton Grima
Hon. Dr. Clifton Grima is the Parliamentary
Secretary for Youths, Sports and Voluntary Organisations.
He was born on 14 September 1983 and has one
brother and one sister. He is married to Rita and they have one child, Michael.
Dr. Grima graduated from the University of Malta
in 2010 as a lawyer.
He was elected in parliament on the Labour
Party ticket in the October 2016 Casual Elections and served as a Member of the
Parliament. He was re-elected in parliament in the June 2017 General Election.
9th June 2017 is the day on which Dr.
Clifton Grima was granted an oath of allegiance in the Parliament of Malta.
From then on he was officially appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary
for Sport, Youth and Voluntary Organizations, within the Ministry of Education.
Hon Dr. Clifton Grima has been involved in
politics for a number of years. While practicing his profession, Hon. Dr.
Clifton Grima held various high positions in the private sector. Prior to his
election in Parliament he served in the Local Council of Msida for five years. In his position as Mayor,
he was instrumental in making a number of projects where they could be enjoyed
by everyone. Some of these projects are a computing center, an elderly center,
new avenues and squares not only enjoyed by local people but also by hundreds
of people who enjoy these projects on a daily basis. Hon. Dr. Grima continued
to occupy the post of Mayor until 2013. In the same year, he was appointed by
the Maltese Government as Chief Executive of Mental Health Services where he
was instrumental in implementing new legislation that provided more rights to
the patient. He held this post until he was elected to the
parliament in October 2016.
Hon. Dr. Clifton Grima
believes that as a Parliamentary Secretary one
should be an example in everything he does and that he should serve all the
people the best way possible without any distinction. Hon. Dr. Clifton Grima
believes that political vocation translates itself into a duty that is based and reflected in these principles.
